Local papers – South Essex

These are the papers we produced mainly for local distribution in Thurrock, Basildon and sometimes, Southend-on-Sea. There were a few occasions when they were handed out at some of the larger protests in London. They were also handed out at anarchist bookfairs up until October 2017, after which we vowed to never have a stall at a bookfair ever again.

These papers were originally on the now archived Grassroots Alternative blog. For the sake of completeness, we’re making them available here.

Anti-lockdown protest papers

These papers were produced for distribution at a number of anti-lockdown / anti-great reset / anti-vaccine passport protests. They are an experiment in reaching a new audience which, for whatever reason, the left and many anarchists have chosen to ignore. We stand by our efforts in trying to achieve this.

Independent Working Class Association (IWCA) papers

On this blog we occasionally mention our involvement with the IWCA back in the 2000s. We’ve dug up most of the papers we produced when we stood in the local elections in the Staford East & Corringham Town ward (Thurrock). While ultimately the IWCA experiment with grassroots engagement in our communities didn’t succeed, we learned a lot from the experience.
